Fruit for this wine is sourced from the Chalmers Family Vineyard located in Merbein, just outside of Mildura. Merbein is a semi-arid climate with hot summers and cool winters. It has a low average rainfall of 280mm and is considered hot, with long sunshine hours, low humidity, and negligible growing season rainfall.
Crush and destemmed on arrival to winery, this wine is chilled to 14 °C and cold soaked for 24 hours prior to inoculation with yeast. Ferment was left on skins until dry where it was then pressed of with the free run and pressing combined. This batch was then left in stainless steel to go through secondary fermentation and some maturation before bottling. Our 24 Teroldego was bottled early and is a fruit forward, fresh and vibrant red wine.
